I'm wondering if anyone here does the legacy challenge. This is my first time giving it a go...well, ok, second. The first time I got bored lol! Anyway, i'm doing my "own" this time. I'm following the same rules, kinda, but instead i'm using Gnomelandia. I'm SO curious to see how my family will turn out, what they will look like etc. I just started today so hopefully it goes well. What do you guys think of using Gnomelandia to have a legacy? There's so many crazy characters in there that it has to be fun!

That sounds like an interesting idea! Especially if you download the Sims that people made that are non-human. I could see a "poor human relocated to a very strange land - can they and their family ever be accepted?" kind of storyline.
I'm on gen 6 of my legacy right now, and I'm starting to lose steam like always. I tried a theme this time, by accident at first. I had my founder love the outdoors, just because it meant she actually enjoyed sleeping on a cheap bed with no walls or floor! LOL. Gave that trait to everyone since, so I've got fishermen and bug collectors all over. Only thing missing is the deathfish. Too bad everyone has wanted to be mad scientists or writers so far. If anyone had had a lifetime wish to be some other career it may not have become as monotonous. We'll see if I finish. Maybe I'll force my next heir to rebel and become a criminal or something.
On a side note - I have soooo many ghosts from everyone who died it's funny. And they all come to the birthday parties! These are not the ghosts you can interact w/ either. They just hang out playing in the sprinkler all night. No one in the house pays them any attention, they're so used to them. Too funny.

Hi ! Im currently playing my legacy atm and I think its one of the best ways to make a really beautiful lot. The house develops almost naturally and really gets affected by your personality more than just sitting down and making a lot all at once I think. I really love it.

At the moment I am doing a legacy type thing (well, it isnt really. It's just how I play the game anyway) with a descendant from sims based on myself and my boyfriend. So i started with a female sim that I had not created. She was born in-game and that makes ir kinda fun. Doing a lot of randomizing traits for born heirs and I am trying not to actively play any other families in that neighbourhood. This is an image of the familytree last weekend. I have moved on a bit since then.

I've been trying to play my legacy, but I've been neglecting them due to all the building and decorating. I'm still only on gen 2. My founder is barely an elder. I've been meaning to do a story like everyone else, but I think I may just have to settle for a photo story.

Anjubee - I totally know what you mean by meaning to do a story. I have a ton of pictures, but honestly this far in I can barely remember who they're of.

The generation 5 Sims in my legacy are all YA or Adults and I haven't picked an heir to get busy on generation 6 :). My lot is lagging horribly so I find I am losing interest. I've found Pinstar's "Sim of the Month" Challenges much more to my liking. But, I am determined to finish the legacy challenge at least once! I always felt bad about never finishing the legacy challenge in the Sims2 until this morning when I read that Pinstar himself only made it as far as generation 8 (in the Sims 2 that is)!

Ok, so I started my legacy after filling the town with some more families i've made. Here is the beginning of the first chapter. I'm not much of a storyteller and it's really my first legacy AND story lol so please be nice hehe! I'm going to try to showcase all of the builders works so that maybe more people will read it and want to download the town. http://kit10legacy.xanga.com/weblog Thanks for reading!

I have never really done a legacy, the rules just seemed to much to me. I may have a go at my own kind of legacy though at some point, with my own kind of rules. Although I suppose my extra terrestrial challenge I was playing is kind of a legacy. I created two alien looking sims - a male and female and moved them into Riverview to see if I get change to genetics of the town to lots of green sims. lol. I have stopped playing it for a bit though as I am too busy creating. I love that you are using Gnomelandia, sounds like it will be fun. Make sure to keep us updated with pics on how it is going.

Im working on my own legacy at the moment (I've never really done one either). I normally just use the sims to create storys but don't actually play the game aside from what I need them to do for the screenshots.
It's a little different from what Im used to, because now Im having to deal with more sims at a time, and take tons of screenshots because I never know which one I'll need. Im going off the rules posted for The Manplant'in Probject though, so it's not your traditional Legacy. Im having good fun with it though and currently, before I start working on this weeks build n share...Im working on the first part of their story! ^_^ I'll post it here incase you kids want to give it a read.
Im a better writer than a builder anyway, and that is a true story!

I played a twist on a legacy challenge last month. Basically, I made a pair of green Sims and had them make lots of babies. Then I had all the male green-skinned babies impregnate as many "traditional" Sims as possible. I went on to do this with blue- and red-skinned Sims as well. I wanted to see what my town might look like with lots of unique skin colors naturally integrated. I eventually got bored of it, but for a while I was seeing green Sims I had never met before and my second generation blue Sim had tons of children wandering around town.
