Well i knew this program worked for homes, but today a suggestion was given that it might work on sim uploads. And guess what it does...

Here is my first sim upload with the program...

http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=1210375

This program was created by Zinda and her son or Zin779 as some know her.I hope anyone who uses it will give her a big thank you.All i'm doing is sharing it with the rest of the Simmer comunity.I am including link to program and directions. You can save it to your desktop for easy referal.

Program:

http://www.zindasgoldensims.com/uic.zip

Directions for use:

You may need to use Winrar to open this program.there is free winrar programs out there.one that has been suggested is at cnet.com

You can use your default paint program for this method or do as i have done and download Infranview..that is easier for me.With paint my coverpics were squished on the exchange

When in the neighborhood view, click on the house and then click share.

Minimize The Sims 3 (Alt + Tab), but do not open the launcher.

Open the program. You can save it to your desktop for easy finding.copy a shortcut and paste it to desktop.

Click the 'Browse...' button, and you should see a list of lots that you have exported.

Select the one you want, then click ok.

You can then use the arrows either side of the image to find the ones you want to replace.

Click 'Replace' while on the image you want. You can now find the image that you want to replace it with.

NOTE: The replacement image must be in PNG format and a size of 512 pixels x 512 pixels.

Select the image and click 'Ok'

Once you have replaced all of the images that you want to change, click 'Save'. Click 'Yes' to confirm the changes.

Now close the program.

Now you can upload the house as normal, by opening the launcher (From Sims or by double clicking on the Sims 3 icon on desktop). The image in the launcher will not change!! But dont worry it should be on the site once uploaded.

Thanks for this, Dark! I've been wanting to change my avatar at the main site for a while now. I'll give it a try. :)

i'm just glad more people are going to find it useful...And Anjubee, thanks for the sticky. Also Merrywiddow made a post on how to post pics and links in this site.I'm hoping it gets stickied for the newcomers, since posting here is different than the Ea forums. Her explanation was very helpful to me.

A quick question ... Can you change the Sim Pic using Lepid Lama? If so, is it the same size and how?

I can't get lepid llama to work, I suspect it has something to do with stupid Vista's permissions. You'd think that as a professional programmer, I'd be able to do a better job of bossing my own computer around.  But anyway... the reason I wrote this is to say thank you very much for posting this and I would also send Zinda a million thanks but I don't know of any way to send messages to ppl.

Now I'm off to make some pictures to use this on!

MamaPaul- I couldn't get lepid llama to work for me either. So - am very interested in trying this program- During my enforced 'sabbatical' I couldn't get a lot to accept a house or a community lot - so I entered it and built a small 'colorful fishin'" lot - which is perfect for trying the program tonight/this am (whatever it is!) -

and Darkside - THANK YOU so much for posting this!

RE: Minimize The Sims 3 (Alt + Tab), but do not open the launcher.

Whenever I try to minimize my game it crashes :(
I am wondering if it has to do with WA? ... Or HELS?  Anybody else having this issue?
