I'm back with more questions! This time: CC.

So I've gone a little crazy and downloaded a lot of cc (objects and patterns). I have now crashed 3 times...

To those who use cc frequently, any thoughts? Does this happen often to you?

Also, from others, do you like lots with cc? Do you find them too risky/don't want to take up the space?

And another for downloaders...How often does transferable cc actually transfer? I went into a lot today (I won't say whose) that uses cc. It was one that did not bring the cc along with it. And for some objects on the lot (I couldn't really pinpoint what they were), they were replaced by the standing bathroom cabinet! lol. I have always avoided store content for this reason: I want what I see on my end to be what users see on their end. However, I don't have the EP or SP and other than the free store content, none of that either. It's fun to have some new items to play with...

Yet another....How do people handle crediting? Does anyone seem to take issue with cc they've created being used. I can't find all of the original creators nor (with the amount I'm using! :)) can I credit them all in my lot descrip. Thoughts?

Finally, do lots with cc not created by the builder ever get featured? That's not the be all and end all, of course, but there's no need to rule out the possibility from the beginning, either.

OK. I think that's sufficient. I'm very curious about people's thoughts; most importantly, concerning the crashing and whether or not you download lots with cc.

Thanks so much for reading!

Bumped myself down with all my other posts! Thought I'd nudge this back up before bed.

Third party CC and Macs don`t go so well together. You can read all about that in the Mac part of the TS3 forum. This is one reason why I end bying things from the store unfortunately.  I don`t really download things with CC  as this is my work computer as well and I want to keep it clean from corrupting files etc.

I actually recently found a ton of CC too. I found a pretty nifty little tutorial/explanation about how to keep your game loading smoothly with 100s of those little files. (I can dig up the link to it if you'd like - I don't have a Mac though so I'm not sure if it would help.)

I think MTS has that little program for fixing blue lot files and corrupt CC. I got it and found one corrupt file before I used it in game, the program apparently fixed it and I had no problems.

I only download objects and patterns though - no clothes/hair/skin, CAS slider mods or story progression stuff. To me, that's "safer", but in reality it probably isn't. :P

Once I got over my initial hesitation about downloading, I found some really, really cool stuff out there and a lot of it looks good and is very useful.

I've yet to upload a lot with my newly found CC though (except patterns because I had quite a few before and I don't know where they came from). In digging through some of the sites, most creators explicitly say "no exchange", so I try to respect that - but it's hard to go back to base/EP game objects after having such variety. I did download one of freynas' lots to get some initial CC and check it out (TSR's transfers on the exchange if it has that little W in the corner), I'd say that's what helped me get over my "fear" of CC...

Not sure if all that helps or not :P

Issues with Mac and  CC can be very different from pc. Many of the programmes that exist to fix problems, change cover pictures don`t work on Macs. CAW doesn`t work on Mac, even if it is an EA programme. When things start to go wrong, it is difficult to find any help/info on line as we Mac simmers are not so many yet.
