Challenge #1: Humble Abode
Bethany and Corbin Brinsky got married Monday, May 24th, 2010 in a small chapel in Sunset Valley. They want a small quaint little home, but let me tell you their story before we get onto that... Bethany grew up in a rather rich family. She has grown accustome to her lavish lifestyle, but when her father was laid off for poor health complications, they were forced to move out of their mansion and live in a small three bedroom home in Sunset Valley. This made Bethany's snobby personality very angry. She much loved her precious things and several cars, but was forced to sell almost all of them. Her parents weren't much for putting away or investing. The only thing Bethany kept out of the move were her paintings. She loved art and loved creating it.
Corbin, on the other hand, was used to living in the middle class and much enjoyed the simple things in life. He often spent days fishing with his father or playing catch with his little brothers outdoors, which was his favorite place to be. He was often more concerned with his athletic career than settling down and getting married. It wasn't until he was spending the day in the park with his younger brother that the idea of marriage popped into his head. He was throwing the football around when it happened to land in the lap of a beautiful girl sunbathing on a blanket. This young lady happened to be Bethany Fox and she was not happy to be rudely disturbed by a flying ball. She sat up instantly and glared at the young man running to fetch the ball. Corbin knelt down beside her and said, "I'm so sorry about that, I guess it just got away from me."
As soon as Bethany heard his voice she knew she would fall for him, "It's okay," she said with a smile since her earlier glare had vanished...
From that day on, Bethany and Corbin were inseperable. He taught her how to fish and that being outside was okay. He even taught her that fancy things aren't always important...
So, now you know a little about their backstory, they came to me and asked for a new humble home to come home to when they return from their honeymoon.
Your task:
Create a humble home on a lot no bigger than 30x30 Your budget is small, only $50,000 (excluding the lot cost) Bethany and Corbin would like the following things:
1. 1 bedroom 2. 1.5 Bath 3. Wraparound porch with seating 4. Backyard patio area 5. Fenced yard 6. 1 parking space with a cost efficient car 7. Open kitchen 8. Small dining nook 9. Small, cozy living are 10. Art studio for Bethany 11. Workout area for Corbin Keep the colors neutral with a little bit of spice.
Creating Bethany and Corbin
Bethany can look and dress however you see fit, but she should have the traits of Snobby and Artistic, the rest are up to you. Corbin can look and dress however you see fit, but he should have the traits of Athletic and Loves the Outdoors. Please have these submitted to me by Tuesday June 8th. | |
