#46 City Boy – RESULTS!
Sorry this is SO late! It was a tough one with 16 entries, different interpretations of the challenge and your skill/talent. Due to the TS3 Forum “down” and limited space here, I’m posting a condensed version omitting your entry links and my individual comments. The following should give you an idea of why you placed or didn’t.
You’re so CUTE! Many of you got carried away with CARS that weren’t required in the challenge but they did pump up “media” and “creativity” scores. Display windows in home garages? (You know who you are.) They weren’t necessary and cost you major bucks. Maybe some of you are “leftovers” from TS2 NightLife when we got our first cars and could build car lots? Maybe this challenge enticed an uncontrollable urge to add DISPLAY WINDOWS?! I get that…I DO and I’m not making fun of you. This was THE most fun observation.
Some of you made 2 separate garages and/or ignored the minimum 3/G-door requirement which made judging difficult. I have to go by the guidelines/rules too. Though your architecture, landscape and/or interior design may be better than other’s, if you disregard any “minimums” listed, you’re score will reflect it. PLEASE remember or write down all of the specific details and follow them. If you need clarification, just ask. OK?
One last thing: Do THIS for your pics to get rid of plumbbobs & thought bubbles: Go to the cheat field using ctrl/shift/c and type “help” without the quote marks. This will bring up the list of cheats. Replace the word “help” with “hideHeadlineEffects on” without the quote marks. When you want to bring back plumbbobs & thought bubbles, do the same but type off at the end. Cool, huh?
Drum roll!

Oh golly, I didn't fair very well this round. That's okay. I learned a lot which is why I joined the challenge in the first place. City Boy was my second challenge and everything that could have gone wrong, did! Cameo, thank you so much. It's a big deal that you take time out of your schedule to do this. I wish I could have read more comments. You have a way of expressing your thoughts well. Congrats to the winners...well, congrats to everyone!

I know, Darlin'! But you DID recieve 1st in one of the optional challenges! This is what I wrote about YOUR entries: ********** Comment/ Constructive criticism: Spacious and beautifully decorated interior fit for a classy bachelor or a classy family. Astonishing game-play! You built the house, garages, made Lawrence Wang as well as Wu Xio and then played both all the way up to marriage and a kid? That just blows my mind! I hate “splitting hairs” but the challenge called for “a” (meaning 1) garage for 6 cars. You built 2. I know I’m being picky but that’s my job. I’m not that jazzed about the many roofs and find them awkward looking. This doesn’t look like one structure but several pushed together. Know what I mean? But the interior is GORGEOUS! Are you comfortable in the Beginner-Intermediate category? I hope so because that really IS where you belong.
Optional Challenges: Screen shots of Lawrence in his new place. Astonishing game-play, outstanding pics and beautiful story! ********** Knowing your capability, I actually saw where you stuggled with the architechure on this one. "....everything that could have gone wrong, did!" Frustrating, huh!?! However, you certainly made up for it with your game-play, story and pics. I'm STILL blown away by THAT! Incredible!
From an "ethics" standpiont, I'm reluctant to share my comments of the other entries here until or if/when they reply to this post. I assumed you might be more interested in YOURS anyway and pretty much gave me permission to post them. So, there they are!
Are you entering this next MAMMOTH callenge? It might take 3 weeks to judge it!
Luv ya!

Yeah, I don't know why City Boy was a struggle for me. I think I over thought it. Thanks for your review. As usual, you were spot on. As far as the mammoth of a challenge, I haven't decided. It's not speaking to me. I did build a pond with a dock though. I don't know. We shall see. Are you going to enter? You ought to be almost caught up on judging. ~heart kim

OH! Here's the rest of it...amazingly!

I'm toying with the idea of entering since I have an area in Sunset Valley that I think is suitable to connect all 4 lots. Just wish we could use the tents from WA for this.
I understand how this doesn't "speak" to you, given your strength in architecture, interior design and landscaping of buildings alone. But now might be the time to leave your "comfort zone" and discover more of your abilities! You might surprise yourself!
Don't expect your LOT entyries to place in the top 3 EVERY time. This is a complicated program and so are these challenges. However, you have a masterful command of media presentations and optional challenges that call for them. This particular challenge is right up your alley, considering THAT!
GO FOR IT! I DARE YOU!
