I could not find this discussed anywhere so hopefully I'm not repeating something already discussed. I have finally been able to use some of the thousands of lots I've downloaded (an addiction I have because of all of you and your creations) and there is the challenge of course of placing builds onto lots that do not match their original creation. I'm sure many of you know what I mean - if a lot was build on a slope or a hill top or a lowered terrain and you place it on a different lot that it was not built on it may not work at all - huge cliffs occur right outside of front doors or the lot is sunk into a crater. Is there a way around this? Once the lot is placed is there a neat way to revamp the surrounding terrain to make the lot sit nicely in place? I I will admit, I have played the game very little and building is where I have the least experience. I have some gorgeous lots from Riverview that I really want to use in some of the custom worlds I've uploaded.

Aside from using the smooth terrain tool, I have not found a way around this either. Possibly on could enter an empty lot, mess around with the elevation and then place the sloped/flat lot onto a terrain that better fits the home, but you'd still be limited by the surrounding terrain. Another possible work around is to place it on an even bigger lot so that there would be more room to smooth the edges.

I think smoothing the terrain would work ok on some lots depending on how they end up on placement. I did try what you suggested though. Raising the terrain first then putting the build on, but no, didn't work. It was worth a try because in particular it's one lot that creates a crater that the lot sits in and I can't seem to find a place for it to fit.
