hey there,

i built a lot that i really love, playtested, reinstalled into my game and everything, it´s absolutely OK and nicely playable.

BUT i can´t get it on my TS3-site, it uploads till the very end of the process, but then i get that bloody red sign that shows that the upload didn´t work.

i never used any hacks / 3rd party stuff, there are ONLY original items plus patterns made by myself with CAP, so there can´t be any disturbance from this side...

it´s size is 7,9 mb, so it can´t be the size either... i´m at a loss with it! i tried both, uploading with changed pick (zinda´s software) and in the original version; let sims move in and out again to downsize; reinstalled into my game without any trouble... to make it short: i tried everything i could think of. even sent the file and all the other needed stuff to EA-support. they sent me a patcher which i installed, but it won´t help at all.

may be one of you talented builders has another idea? any original items known to cause trouble?

i´d appreciate any helpful suggestions :)

thanks in advance,

archi

I have the same problem and so does some others I have talked to.  So far, EA sent me a step by step guide of how to download.  I don't think anyone has gotten any assistance and are just waiting it out and keep trying to upload.  I think it has something to do with the last game patch.  It started for me about that time.

There are some people who said they thought the CAP patterns were causing them to be unable to upload. Also, sometimes store content will cause a problem. Other than that, sometimes they just won't upload.

Thank you so much for your suggestions!

I just uploaded a different lot, full of CAP-patterns, but was unable to upload a similar lot with patterns. So i don´t think it´s the patterns in general. I got several answers from the EA-tech-team so far. One sent me a patcher which wouldn´t help at all, the latest said that the team will need more time to look into this subject. They´ve got my lot, I attached it to the mail. Hope we´ll get a new patch soon, I also think that the troubles started with the latest patch...

Greetings, have a great week everyone!

SmokyTopaz over on TSS was having this problem, and it was suggested to her that there was something that was corrupt in it - store content or CC.  She started with a shell and started adding in things 5 at a time until it wouldn't upload.  She was then able to narrow down the culprit to a CC wallpaper from TSR.  Without that wallpaper it loaded fine.  Time consuming, but maybe worth a try if you're frustrated enough.

Just a quick addendum to that, the wallpaper was not corrupt, it simply came from tsr and ea don't seem to accepting their coding or mesh bases.

A cap pattern needs to be uploaded by itself and then redownloaded to work, don't know why.

Delphys meshes work fine, tsr do not. Sigh, now just to find a way to know the difference!

Smoky - If you have Delphy's Sims3 Cleaner program, it will show exactly what CC is attached to your lot.  All  (I think) of the TSR CC has the creator's name and TSR in the description that displays.

the thing is.. i NEVER use 3rd party stuff in my game! neither TSR nor any other (nor do i download from the exchange generally, with very few exceptions if i know there won´t be any CC in it). so my game is absolutely clean! the tech-team of EA suggests that the patch couldn´t have installed completely, so they ask me to un- and reinstall my game. which isn´t possible at the moment, i don´t have my base-DVD at hand until middle of the coming week ^^ let´s see if this issue can be solved this way. honestly, i doubt it, all the trouble started with the latest patch and it´s not new that patches sometimes cause very bad issues, is it ;-) well, if so, they´ll have to bring up a new patch ASAP. i know that i´m not the only one with issues like that currently.

thanks a lot for your replies :) and happy weekend!

Update: I finally managed to reinstall my game, Ethan from the EA-tech-team had a long list for me how to manually uninstall and reinstall, super-patcher included. took me hours to do this but with no positive result, unfortunately :(

guess i´ll have to wait for a new patch!

I did the same thing with my lot but with 1 object at a time and for my surprise, the object that was  not letting my lot to upload was the Hula Dancer Lamp !!!!!! here Yea! A store item that I payed for! Now is that frustrating or what?

Ethan looked into the file, even tried to upload it for me from the ea-server, but he couldn´t upload it either ^^ he couldn´t find any corrupted parts in the file at all - well, he´s from support III, which means he´s "maxed his career" at EA-tech-team ;-) he forwarded it to the patch-makers for the next patch...

finished another lot yesterday (with freshly installed game), but impossible to upload, too.

UPDATE: worst case for a builder:

you know, i was struggling with that uploading-issue.

built new lot(s) though, patiently waiting for the next patch to solve the uploading-horror.

but now... last weekend, my harddrive met grimmy :-(

nothing left, no in game progress, no lots that hadnt been uploaded, nothing (of course, all the other stuff on my harddrive, too...).

who knows when i´ll have the cash to buy a new system...

sorry for whining here, just had to tell someone who knows how much it hurts ;-)

greetings to all,

archi

Oh no! Worst case! I'm sorry to hear about that.:( I hope you can get a new puter soon.  Stinks with no sims whatsoever. You can still come here and chat, or whine if you like.;) *hugs*

Sorry to hear about your computer biting the dust!  I still have the same problem as you did, only now some lots upload and others do not.

I don't know if this is relevant to the issues people have been experiencing in uploading to the Exchange. Since I use a Mac, the patches don't seem cause problems, but CC always does. I've just tried about 10 times to upload a lot I originally created for the Build-n-Share challenges. Each time the lot seemed to be uploading but as soon as the progress bar was completed, I got a "Server Error" message. Since I had originally created the lot with many CC items and patterns, each time the upload failed, I would go back to the lot and check again for CC that I hadn't converted to regular game stuff. Each time I found something I had forgotten to change. Sometimes it was an obvious item like a bed, but sometimes it was a custom pattern that had found its way underneath a staircase. I was about to give up after exhaustively searching the whole lot (and it was a big lot) for CC I had missed. Then I noticed that the rock/stone pattern of the kitchen sink didn't quite match the pattern of the counter tops. I had forgotten to change that CC pattern! When I finally changed the sink, the lot uploaded.

Yes, there definitely seems to be a problem with uploading CC to the exchange, but I know there are also some people who have no CC in their game whose lot won't upload. Don't know what the problem is then. :/

Archi - I have used computers at the library before if they will let you get on the internet. Some will and some won't.

Freynas did you CAS the hula dancer light? Smokey said that store content doesn't prevent a lot to load to the echange only if you CAS it with an unacceptable CC pattern!
