Hey everyone! I'd like to first say I'm new to this site but I'm loving it so far! Everyone is very talented, nice, and helpful. I love seeing everyone's creations.
Okay, now my question is: I've seen a lot of houses with bridges over ponds, and I literally mean arched bridges as opposed to decks with stairs. How do I do that? Or perhaps I'm seeing them from an angle that doesn't show the stairs, but the deck is still arched. Can someone tell me how to do that? Thanks!
Oh, and one other thing - the Sims 3 book says I can hide gridlines when I'm building, but it doesn't say how. I've checked Options but have been unable to find anything for that. I'd like to hide the gridlines so that when I'm done building I can take pictures of my creation without having to move Sims in, especically since my game has been crashing a lot lately. So can someone please tell me how to hide gridlines? Thanks!

Hey there! Hiding gridlines when taking pictures is easy! If you enter the "terrain paint" option in "build mode," and the grids will disappear. Just make sure to hide the terrain paint circle when taking your picure. Arched bridges are a little tougher. I went through a couple of tutorials before I found one that really made sense to me. Here's one - http://www.thesimsresource.com/tutorials/view/category/sims3/id/13173/creating-arched-bridges-in-sims-3 - that seems pretty straight forward. Let me know if you have any other questions And welcome to the site!

If you want to hide grid lines while building, press the G key. This will only hide internal grid lines though, and won't get rid of the 'blank squares' you see at the edge of tiles and such.
In case you haven't figured out the arched bridge yet, here's another tutorial

Hi Tender Wolf! Also, press the letter “c” key to take pics instead of moving the mouse and clicking on the camera icon. I just learned this myself and it’s so old/easy I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know about it. After you've removed the gridlines, per KitKat's instructions, and set up your shot without the terrain circle showing ... DON'T move your mouse! If your game is like mine, the screen might "jump" and you'll lose your carefully positioned shot. VERY frustrating! Use the “c” key instead. Easy-peasy! Have fun and we're all looking forward to seeing more of you here!
